A new chapter in rare exploration—Whispers of the Archipelago is a series of bespoke, highly curated voyages through the furthest reaches of Indonesia. Each edition traces a different corner of the archipelago with culture, tradition, nature, and wonder. No two years are the same, and each departure is limited. For our first edition, we journey to the forgotten lowlands of Papua and the ancestral waters of Raja Ampat.
Bringing the edition to life, Mutiara Laut, a masterful 46-meter schooner blending European craftsmanship & Indonesian spirit, invites a small circle of travelers to experience something truly rare: a journey we offer only once in a great while. This October and November, join us aboard for an unforgettable passage through The Forgotten Islands of Banda Sea, Papua & Raja Ampat.
First, the Asmat fierce guardians of a vanishing world. Once headhunters and now revered artisans, the Asmat people’s ancestral ceremonies, drum rituals, and monumental wood carvings remain among the planet’s most awe-inspiring cultural treasures. Over three unforgettable days, you’ll travel by canoe into their secluded river villages, welcomed with a rare boat ceremony of more than 200 men—an electrifying expression of a culture largely untouched by time.
Then, the voyage turns north, toward Raja Ampat’s scattered emerald isles, where limestone towers rise from turquoise seas and coral gardens bloom beneath the surface. Swim with whale sharks in Triton Bay, explore hidden caves at Misool and snorkel reefs so rich they seem impossible—a single afternoon revealing a palette of life unmatched anywhere on Earth.
Between adventures, Mutiara Laut becomes your sanctuary: teak-lined interiors, billowing sails, starlit dinners, and a timeless spirit of exploration. Explore our available Asmat Expeditions:
